Hi again! it's been a 'long time between drinks' for me....and now the year is almost at an end. Spring(such as it was) has left us drizzling into Summer. The rain is welcome on one level, but there is always a 'down' side to everything, even the weather!
Xmas is upon us, and the Christmas Bush has been flowering, madly because of the rain.....looks brilliant along the sides of the road. It's very lush, and gives a festive appearance to the steetscape.
Last weekend, I was involved in flowers/styling and installation of "Table Manners" at the Waywood Galleries/ still @ Centre in the industrial estate in Byron Bay....images forthcoming, when I get my camera's memory card sorted out. Am a very busy girl too, at present, flying to Sydney to "do" flowers for my friend Leah's daughter, Anna for her wedding on Sunday. Congratulations to all concerned.
Then it's back to Bangalow for the Christmas 'rush' and again a flight to Sydney to spend some much-needed quality time with the family. Really miss the 'Precious', and her mum and dad. So it will be a big Xmas this year, as my beloved brother will also be celebrating his 60th birthday.
Happy Birthday Big brother! xxx
I will have to see about downloading a few images from the last few months, especially from the weddings in October, and November. There is also a (spectacular, I hope) pic of a flower display which I 'did' for a special clients' Xmas party...I really would like to see how that turns out.
Well, to all my friends/watchers out there, I send greetings and best wishes for the Season..may it fulfill all your dreams, and let 2011 be a better year for us all .
love, Georgie

Workshop huge success!
The last workshop was a huge success, and I will most definitely be running another in the not too distant future. The Magnolia are blooming and the Japonica (Flowering Quince) has started.....the blossom will not be far behind it. Bridal queries are coming in, as the "Season" is just around the corner. Byron Bay and the Hinterland is the perfect place to pledge your love.
Anyone you know thinking of getting married, or having a party in the area, please feel free to send them my way for the most imaginative and glorious flowers. I have recently introduced my Frequent Shopper Loyalty Cards......so, if you are in the area, drop in, buy some flowers and pick up your card.....no time like the present to start building up those points to make your flower-buying experience even more enjoyable!
I am really looking forward to late Winter, early Spring, as the flowers are so bright and abundant! I love being a flower merchant!

Hi and hello to all the people out there who read this....today was by far the chilliest we've seen.. the flowers are loving it and I have to admit that I, too, am really enjoying the 'snuggly' weather. The Magnolias are starting their annual show, with beautiful branches available in store. The Sweet Peas are also becoming available, these little flower 'butterflies' would have to be one of my absolute eternal favourites. Can hardly wait for the Spring blossom which should be appearing really soon. The other flowers of note in store are orange Cordifolia or 'Pincushion' flowers, stunning Snapdragons (a childhood favourite!) and the last of the Garden Roses--beautifully full and fragrant, they rival the majestic loveliness of the Columbian beauties which are tall, and full headed. What the garden roses lack in stature, however, is more than amply repaid by their unbelievable fragrance!
The sun has finally come out this afternoon....and it is most welcome! I had a look at a very beautiful property yesterday....out near Wardell. It is modelled on a French chateau and is gorgeous. I am looking forward very much to working there on a wedding which is coming up in October.
I cannot believe that the year has sped by so fast, and it is nearly a whole year since my darling Amelia Jane was born.....I am so looking forward to seeing her in a few weeks.
A big Hello from Grandmama, sweet heart. xxxx
Back to the blog, and now to sign off...will be back soonly with more news of the flowers. Enjoy the weekend!

Good Morning, welcome to the day......it's raining, and a little cold, but inside the flowers are loving it! It's perfect weather for flowers, they last so well, even when they are in a warm room(not too warm though) Tulips are the pick of the week, and there's the whole season to get through yet.
The Ornamental Kales elicit a lot of comment, as they are quite unique and look amazing when combined with other flowers, love them with roses, which, I have to say, are, unfortunately finished their season for the year. The field/garden roses that is. There are, however, Columbian roses, which are the biggest blooms I have seen for many season. The Erlicheer jonquils are very popular and fragrant, by far one of my favourites. Still waiting for the rest of the Narcissus clan to appear in the marketplace......Winston Churchill, Silver Chimes, Pheasants Eyes....the list of names goes on , and conjures images of stunningly beautiful, ruffled, pastel and fragrant daffodils and jonquils .
We are fortunate here (in the North of NSW) that we have all the different bulbs available, from our southern suppliers, and also the most glorious range of Heliconia flowers, which will very soon become more available, in fact, I will be receiving some Red Christmas heliconias within the next few days. Perhaps we will use them in the workshops which I will be running on 3rd and 10th of July......more info about this below:
FLOWER WORKSHOPS;
I will be running 2 consecutive workshops on 3rd and 10th of July.....they will be 4 hours each and will cover a few different types of flower arrangements.... Cost will be $80 per session, which will include the flowers which we will be using and the tuition. They will be held at the shop, commencing at midday and finishing at 4pm.
For more information or to book/enroll, call 02) 66872311 or 0431 159560.
I look forward to hearing from you, with any comments and booking enquiries.

It's just beautiful out side today....the sun is warm and the air is clear, not much happening yet though. On 3rd and 10th of July , I will be running 2 workshops at Bangalow Rose. They will be consecutive, with the first one focussing on hand tied bunches and the second more to do with flower 'arrangements'. It will be fun, and I will enjoy teaching again.
I must take this opportunity to thank Eva Heath from Heaths' Old Wares. What a wizz on the computer and so much help! So, a big thank you Eva xx

Hello again, just updating after a very hectic few weeks, what with Mothers' Day and weddings and all the rest of it, in the words of Ferris Bueller 'life moves pretty fast, you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it......'
So, today has been a quiet one, but it's overcast and not many people are around, so it's a perfect time to catch up on all those little things which there never seems to be time to get on with every day!
Bangalow Rose is having an exhibition of paintings by local artist and architect, Arion Ocean. It's called Ocean Retrospective, and starts on Saturday for 3 weeks. Should be a great show....I'm looking forward to it. Would be great if lots of people turn up....the works are quite beautiful, and very different to Living Colours...
just getting busy now, so will close for the time being, have a wonderful evening.

November wedding 2007
These bouquets and table arrangements were created for a November wedding, which was held at Riverview in Bangalow. The table centres were all different and represented a wine growing district in France. Each table had an array of stunning hand-picked flowers which were displayed in bespoke wire containers, or with wrought iron candelabra. For your wedding, I can design anything to suit your desires, whether the occasion is a small gathering, or an elaborate feast in a huge marquee. I have many years experience with brides, and attention to detail is an important
part of my planning and design.
